Avant Garde
Avant Garde is a very interesting type of film, and I am excited to be directing my own film of this genre. It is especially interesting to watch how the genre has developed over the past 25 years, as things that were Avant Garde once are now considered cliche. Everything was once Avant Garde, or experimental. As time goes on it becomes harder and harder to create things that truly fall under this genre, and the things that do fall under it are often a lower quality. Though, honestly, lower quality doesn't necessarily mean it's bad, and maybe intending something to be lower quality or bad would make it a very good piece of experimental art. Because of this, I like this genre a lot. You can say anything, or do anything and it can serve any purpose- whether it be to say something, to have a meaning, or to just look pretty- and it can still be 'good'.
